Prophet and President Russell M. Nelson, the oldest living leader of a global church, will celebrate his 101st birthday on September 9, 2025. From September 2 through his birthday, Church social media accounts will share messages from him.
“Over the next eight days, please learn with us as we focus on Russell M. Nelson: 101 — a series of important lessons from a beloved teacher,” reads a September 1 post on the Church’s Facebook and Instagram pages. “Each message offers insights into following the Savior with greater faith, love and devotion. We hope you will join in the conversation and share these inspired teachings.”

All are invited to use the hashtag #PresidentNelson101 as they share lessons learned from President Nelson and how his teachings have impacted their lives and brought them closer to Jesus Christ.
Last year, the prophet asked people to celebrate his 100th birthday by reaching out to one person in need and “[spreading] the love of Jesus Christ.” Many around the world responded to the 99+1 invitation on social media.
