Trump Weighs in on Hamas, Putin and Jimmy Kimmel During UK Visit

by admin

President Trump wrapped up a historic state visit to the United Kingdom today by affirming that an “unbreakable bond” connects the U.S. and the U.K.

After a full day of pomp and pageantry at Windsor Castle, the president and Prime Minister Keir Starmer got down to business.

The two announced major tech deals between the U.S. and the U.K. to the sum of more than $300 billion.

They also fielded questions on a number of topics, including the U.K.’s upcoming decision to recognize a Palestinian state.

“We have to remember October 7th, one of the worst, most violent days in the history of the world. Not just there, the history of the world,” Trump said. “Hamas said that they’re going to put the hostages up as bait. They’re going to put the hostages in front of any attack. And that’s pretty brutal. We haven’t heard that one in a long time. So, we have to remember that. So, I have a disagreement with the Prime Minister on that score, okay. One of our few disagreements, actually.”

The two also took questions on the war in Ukraine. The prime minister reiterated the need to put more pressure on Russia, while President Trump expressed his disappointment with Vladimir Putin.

“He has let me down. He’s killing many people, and he’s losing more people than he’s killing. Frankly, the Russian soldiers are being killed at a higher rate than the Ukrainian soldiers. But he’s let me down. It doesn’t affect the United States unless we end up in a world war over this thing. You could. But this is a thing that would have never happened if I had been president. This is a thing that would’ve never happened,” Trump said.

The president also tackled questions on free speech and the suspension of late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

Kimmel was taken off the air over comments he made about conservatives and the man accused of killing Charlie Kirk.

“Jimmy Kimmel was fired because he had bad ratings more than anything else. And he said a horrible thing about a great gentleman known as Charlie Kirk. And Jimmy Kimmel is not a talented person. He had very bad ratings, and they should have fired him a long time ago. So, you know, you can call that free speech or not. He was fired for lack of talent,” Trump said.

Kimmel’s show has been indefinitely suspended.
